Everything is fine...

...but we did have a quick (and unexpected) visit to the hospital on Monday night for some contraction monitoring. I've been having Braxton-Hicks contractions since about 20 weeks fairly sporadically. But, this weekend, they started to become a bit more frequent, anywhere from 2-5 an hour. Still, this really shouldn't be too much cause for concern.

I did call my doctor's after-hours line Monday as they had been closer to the 4-5 an hour mark for 24 hours, so I thought it better to be on the safe side and ask him at what point do I maybe need to slow down? I was pretty much expecting the, "Drink a glass of water, lie down, and call back if they get worse" answer.

Well, instead, I got the, "Let's just be on the safe side...since this is a twin pregnancy at 25 weeks and preterm labor is so common...and have you come in to the hospital for some monitoring" answer.

Now, I knew that I wasn't in labor (and thought this might be a bit much), but still, I guess it was better to be on the safe side and check that I wasn't dilating or showing any other signs for concern. So, we headed out to the hospital and got hooked up to the monitors.

The computer showed that I had about 3-4 in an hour, and a check from the nurse showed no signs of dilating. Wahoo! She also said that looks/sounds like I have a sensitive uterus which responds by contracting to a full bladder, baby movement (which there was a TON of during the monitoring), getting up out of bed, etc. So, we're still moving ahead with no pre-term labor and no bed rest. Great news!

Oh, and one other fun bit of info...we got to hear baby "B" have the hiccups for the first time! I'm sure I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been hooked up the monitors, but we heard this repetitive little thump sound every few seconds. The nurse was in the room at the time and said, "Well no wonder we can't keep him on the monitor...he keeps moving around with the hiccups!" I could then actually feel them when I put my hand by where his chest was...and so could Scott! Too cute! I tried saying "Boo!" to scare them out, but no luck. :)

So, in the end, all is well and we got a great preview of what it will be like on the big day...which hopefully won't be until December!
